Equipment Review: Win & Win Meta LX Riser
Share
If you’ve been eyeing the new Win & Win Meta LX Riser, you’re not alone—we just got our hands on one and took it through a full review cycle. From unboxing and tuning, to shooting and scoring—it’s all here. So grab your coffee and let’s dive in.
📦 First Impressions: Unboxing & Setup
Straight out of the box, the Meta LX is sharp. The finish is buttery smooth, the paint is clean, and the flake in the clear coat? Gorgeous ✨. No dirt nibs, no paint drips—just solid win & win polish.
A few surprises out of the gate:
-
🆕 New steel tiller bolts with marking indicators
-
❌ No more Callet locks—hello grub screws (more on that later)
-
📏 The grip section is thicker than past risers like the ATF-DX or Meta-DX, so heads up—your go-to grip might not fit
We couldn’t use our standard RCore grip without cracking it 😬. Measure first and let RCore know your exact width if you’re ordering one. (Use code Kaminski for 10% off)
Also, the clicker plate has changed—slightly different chamfering meant our pre-set arrow rest didn’t fit. Minor annoyance, but worth noting.
🔧 Minor Fit & Finish Observations
There were a couple areas that didn’t hit the usual win & win perfection:
-
Slight burr on the limb alignment bolt threads made installation a bit crunchy 😬
-
Tiller bolts came in slightly undersized (~372.5 thou vs. the ILF standard of 375 thou)
-
One grub screw chipped the riser paint on first adjustment—ouch 💥
But in Win & Win’s defense: the geometry was consistent, the alignment was easy, and it all set up beautifully. 🛠️
Tuning & First Shots
We tuned it at 30 meters and shot a full scoring round at 18m/20yds. Here's what stood out:
-
The riser is noticeably lighter than both the ATF-DX and Meta-DX—over 100 grams less ⚖️
-
You’ll likely need to add stabilizer weight (we ended up adding 2 extra ounces to the long rod to find the balance)
-
Post-shot vibration was higher than expected for a carbon riser—not bad, just more “alive” than dead-in-hand
-
The NS XP limbs on this setup were rockets 🚀, delivering hard-launching, snappy shots
🔍 Tuning was smooth. With almost no adjustments, bear shafts landed in the group. That’s a win.
🎯 Scoring Performance
After dialing it in:
-
🔢 Scored a 288/300 using standard 10-ring
-
🎯 Or 299/300 with Lancaster scoring
-
📈 First half: dropped 11 points
-
💪 Second half (after the stabilizer weight tweak): dropped just one point
Clearly, balance made a huge difference. Once we added that final ounce, the bow locked in and the pin barely moved. Stability went through the roof! 📊
🔚 Final Thoughts
Pros:
✅ Beautiful finish with clean machining
✅ Lightweight but powerful
✅ Consistent geometry—easy to swap in if you’re already shooting win & win
✅ Great fit with NS XP limbs
✅ Good scoring potential, even without perfect form
Cons:
❌ Riser is too thick for standard grips (measure before buying aftermarket!)
❌ More vibration than expected from a carbon riser
❌ Tiller bolts slightly undersized and changed locking mechanism
❌ Minor paint chip on first tiller bolt adjustment
🏁 Final Verdict:
If you're a Win & Win fan looking to shave off weight and still retain consistency, the Meta LX is worth your attention. It's lively, fast, and sharp—but just be ready to adjust your stabilizer balance and custom grip game.
