Global Arrows Are Flying: June Tournament Update
June has arrived with a surge of energy across the Kaminski Archery community. The Backyard Championships are well underway, and what started as a fun experiment in connecting archers worldwide has grown into something remarkable.
As of this week, nearly 30 countries are now represented in the tournament — from first-time competitors shooting in their backyards to seasoned archers competing in club ranges and national training centers. The submissions span all divisions: Olympic Recurve, Compound, Barebow, and Traditional — and the enthusiasm is unmistakable.
Whether you're braving the summer heat or dialing in your shots in cooler climates, there's a shared rhythm across the globe: stretch, anchor, release... and a collective pursuit of better scores, tighter groups, and meaningful community.
The tournament closes on June 30, and we expect to see a major wave of score submissions as archers finalize their rounds in the coming weeks. If you haven’t yet entered, it’s not too late — registration is open, and your shot still counts.
The Battle of the Clubs Heats Up
Behind the scenes of the Backyard Championships, a different kind of rivalry is taking shape — and it's not just about individual performance.
The Battle of the Clubs is quickly becoming one of the most exciting elements of this year’s event. Clubs and ranges across the world are going head-to-head, rallying their archers to shoot, submit, and climb the leaderboard. Each completed round counts as a “vote” for that club — and the stakes? They’ve never been higher.
The winning club will earn a free, in-person group lesson and seminar with Jake Kaminski — anywhere in the world. Jake will travel directly to your facility, at no cost to you, bringing Olympic-level coaching and insight straight to your team.
“This is about celebrating the clubs and coaches who are growing the sport from the ground up,” Jake says. “I want to support the people who are creating space for archers to train, belong, and thrive — and the Battle of the Clubs is a way to give back.”
From NASP programs to national teams and independent ranges, submissions are steadily climbing — and we expect a surge as club leaders push for the top. If you're part of a club, this is the moment to rally your team. A single archer can submit up to four scores per round, across multiple bow styles. Every entry helps your club rise.
Jake Kaminski on The Tim Ferriss Show
In what may be one of his most personal and insightful interviews to date, Jake Kaminski recently sat down with bestselling author and podcaster Tim Ferriss to talk about the journey behind the medals — and the mindset required to stay competitive across decades of elite performance.
The conversation covered far more than just archery. Jake opened up about discipline, routine, failure, and the process of reinventing himself after retirement from Team USA. He discussed training in brutal conditions to build mental resilience, why he writes daily affirmations, and how his family plays a central role in his life and business.
“Archery isn’t just a sport — it’s a system of mastering your own mind,” Jake shared during the interview. “And the best part is, those lessons apply everywhere.”
The episode is generating buzz not only among archers but also with listeners who are interested in performance, focus, and the long game of excellence. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s worth the listen — and a great one to share with non-archer friends who want to understand the mindset behind the string.
